Race Director Sam Ames is bringing The Hardest Cyclocross Race In California to Bakersfield’s Hart Park, Jan 16, 2011. At this event, riders from Nor Cal and So Cal will battle it out to claim the the California State Cyclocross Championship. Whichever region has the most combined points at the end of the day will take home a six foot tall trophy and bragging rights for the rest of 2011.  In addition to racing, there will be bagpipes, marching bands, beer / food, and a $5000 prize list.

The Course: Classic European style. Long pavement start, 2 road sections, the rest is dirt and grass. 2 Run Ups and a fly over ramp. Lots of room for passing. Course will be set up by 2pm Saturday, January 15th for pre-riding.

Entry: $30 for pre-registered racers, $35 race day ($25 and $30 for single speed). Additional races are just $15. Juniors with a USAC license race for free (non-licensed juniors race for free also but $10 is required to cover insurance costs).

Extra: Third Annual Bidart & Ablin Hill Climb Challenge. After all the races are finished, everyone is welcomed to enter the hill climb challenge to win $100. Rules are easy, be the first to the top of the moutnain (*with your full sized bike), ring the bell, collect $100.
